Flooded trails in Iowa.....
Yesterday afternoon Kevin and I wanted to go for a walk on the nature trails in our area. Below are pictures of what we saw on the flood-ravaged trails.

As you can see by the sign, the public was greatly discouraged from entering. At another trail in town the posted sign said not to enter.

An old canvas shoe caught on barbed wire

part of the trail that was actually nice. It was mostly sandy and wet and in many places, muddy.

Found this along the trail...don't know the name of this weed, but it looks like a giant dandelion.

and, a close up....

Last year's corn stalks washed up against this old fence

a road block

Kevin pointing out the flood line. The muddy waters left its mark on the leaves.

We noticed a lot of fungus was growing

Washing away around the bridge's foundation and a large tree washed up against it. We crossed the bridge anyway, as Kevin deemed it was safe.

Here, the trail is totally washed away and left a gully.

and....where the sidewalk ends.
