A new art gallery has opened in town and Kevin has a couple of his paintings hung. This is the first local gallery his works have been in.

An old bank building converted into the art gallery called "The Art Vault". It's grand opening was this weekend.

Two of Kevin's paintings. One sees them as soon as one walks through the entrance. Kevin is itching to do more paintings...whenever his busy schedule allows.
Happy Birthday, Bethann!!!

You just keep getting better!!!

Girls just wanna have fuh-un....

Could you rip it open any faster, Belinda?
We're hungry!!!

Beth and Belinda...(let's see now, Belinda has her jacket on here, but not in the picture above this one. Why is that?)

Deb, this is the flower bed Kevin and I made (the day after we returned home from our trip out east) where we planted all the new starts you gave me. Almost all of them are surviving. Excuse the upturned planter tray...it is a temporary fix to water that would otherwise wash out the mulch in a heavy rain. Can't wait to see this flower bed next year.
The art teacher with desired future students.

Gpa and Gma

The women in the family.

Our whole family.
I mentioned to Kevin the other day that I'd never seen him golf and that I would like to watch him sometime. So Thursday after school he invited me to go with him....it was a beautiful day...perfect weather conditions. I rode along in the cart (first time ever) and thoroughly enjoyed our time together.

(Check out the biker calves)

Life returns to normal in our home....

Kevin would rather see Trey happy. (See earlier posting)

Well, we finally replaced our dead tulip tree today. Went to the nursery and bought their last tulip tree of the season...but we didn't pay much for it after using our gift certificates.

The hummingbirds love this hibiscus plant.

One of my side flower beds that my sister, Deb helped me put in. Most of the plant starts were from her.

The first flower bed Deb helped me plant. With the exception of a couple plants, these were all from starts she brought.

Side view of the same bed.

(Keely, don't you just love Deb's eye for creating a flower bed...and the FREE starts?)
Am I coming across as a pridefully proud grandma when I'm trying to come across as a humbly proud grandma...

Kaylin playing on the floor. That girl is never still unless she's asleep.

Kaylin spotted a tunnel to crawl through when she saw Gpa sitting on the couch.

Laying on the floor....

Ethan spelling with the Boggle game and Kaylin creating art with colored pencils.

Guess whose baby feet.

Playing tic tac toe. Gpa was teaching Ethan how to look for patterns in strategizing.

Kevin was delighted to find this game familiar to him from childhood. Teaching Ethan to play pool.

Loves the water.

Did someone say it was time to husk the corn? Kaylin grabbed an ear and couldn't wait to shuck it.

Uncle Trey teaching Ethan how to shoot the Nerf crossbow. Trey, Britt, and Jesse each still have their crossbows from long ago.

Uncle Jesse and neice Krystin being introduced.

Two sisters-in-law who got to know each other during their time together.

A great, long anticipated reunion

Aunt Kari and Krystin in the early morning. Mom was happy to be able to go back to bed and get a little more needed sleep.

The early morning was the best time to enjoy some quiet one-on-one time with the little ones. Krystin was always the first one up.

Three beauties...inside and out. Sisters-in-law, Julie, Britt, Kari

This is how I ride Uncle Trey's John Deere.

I had heard Krystin crying earlier in her bed and later noticed she was quiet. I found that Uncle Jesse had heard her crying too, and couldn't stand to hear her sad little cry, knowing she was all alone in the dark bedroom, because she was supposed to be sleeping. So he went in to take care of her.

Gpa and Kaylin sculpting with playdough. Who better to play that with than Gpa, the artist?
Is this getting to be like home movies? Too bad...it's my blog :o)

Krystin is such a sweet little thing...

Kaylin wakes up so happy from her naps. Gotta love the hair!

Playing Dictionary. Great minds.... (Trey, Kari, Julie, Jesse)

Kaylin decided to crawl up and lay beside Gpa on the couch, much to Gpa's delight.

Our little engineer...loves to run the vaccuum.

Ethan and Kaylin were Mom Britt's and Gpa's caddies in Snake Toss.

Ethan and Kaylin stay behind where it's safe during the toss.
Our home has returned to normal...quiet, that is. And almost everything is put away. There are still reminders of many visitors as the deflated air mattresses and extra blankets are still waiting to be shelved for the next wonderful invasion.

Britt and Penni...ready to leave for our only mom and daughter time...going for Chinese dinner...and time spent in talking, laughing, crying, and later....walking and praying together on a summer night.

My handsome husband. What a gift from God he is to me. I love that man more and more with the passing of time.

Going kayaking. Penni and Kevin

At Gma Roth's and Maynard's...Trey bought Sen Sens (remember Gma Widmer always had those?) and shared some with Ethan and Kaylin. Surprisingly, they liked them. They're a licorice-flavored breath freshener. They used to come in little slide boxes that had a little hole in either end for dispensing a sen sen.

Kaylin enjoying a cup of Great Gma's homemade ice cream.

Dan and Britt....still very much in love. They're the old wedded couple in our family.

Ethan, Zeke, Kaylin, Great Gma (Evelyn)

Marti and Steve were able to come to Gma's and Maynard's to see our family, minus Julie and Jesse. J and J were only able to come on weekends because of their jobs.

Maynard, Trey, Gma, Britt. It was a fast few hours spent with them, but what fun to be together again!

Great grandchildren with Great Gparents: Kaylin, Ethan, Gma, Maynard, Krystin

Ethan showing Uncle Trey how to eat the TicTacs so that they crunch when you bite them.

Dan and Britt as we all walked through the cemetary when we visited releatives' gravesites.
