Last Sunday was an outdoorsman's delight! You guessed it...Kevin prepped his beloved Trek and went for a ride.

Vanity...I told Kevin I was having a good hair day (ready for church on Sunday morning) and asked him to please take a picture for me to post. My kids know I'm not the most photogenic of people. They've had occasion to laugh at some past photos of their mom. This one is for my kids ;o)

"It's the right side of the moon" to cut hair, says Mom. As her mom before her, she says you're supposed to cut your hair on the dark side of the moon (or is it the light side) and the hair grows slower, thus your haircut lasts longer. Same with planting vegetables. You're supposed to plant the root vegetables on the dark side of the moon and the veggies that grow above the ground are supposed to be planted on the light side of the moon. (Must have something to do with magnetic pull of the moon. Truly, it has nothing to do with superstition.) Mom said Grandma always had a good garden.

A work in progress...be patient...

Ta dah!!!! Oh, the wonders of root booster and...

...pomade, and hairspray. This is a hairstyle that is managable for Mom. Quick and easy.

Good to go for another 6 to 8 weeks.
Mom (Grandma) and Maynard came to visit us today. Since Maynard's birthday is this month, we chose to celebrate at Red Lobster.

Kevin selected the Sailor's Platter (shrimp scampi, cod, garlic mashed potatoes). I had my favorite....the Lobster Pizza (topped with fresh sweet basil, tomato, lobster pieces, then fresh lemon dripped on top of it all. Then the mozzerella cheese. No tomato sauce. Did you get that, Trey and Kari?)

Mom with her plate of shrimp alfredo. (Please notice that her bread plate is empty. She loves the biscuits. How many refills did they bring us of the biscuit baskets, Mom?)

Maynard picked the Tilapia in a Bag. Steamed veggies came with the fish.

Us

Oh, deer me....

The deer trail is between our and the neighbor's yard. Saw these out our front window Thursday afternoon. They're just out for a walk I suppose. Notice the bald spot on the shoulder of the deer on the left.

In our back yard...

Maynard looked out our window into the back yard and was counting all the deer ....we all came running to look. I got a video clip, but sorry...don't know how to post those yet. Think there were 20 deer that came into the yard this side of the tree line. There were 3 bucks (button buck, a 6 point, and an 8 point). Was pretty exciting....very unusual.
