Last Sunday we went down to Shelly's and Kevin's for a fun afternoon.

Passing a corn field behind wildflowers in full bloom in the ditch

Bean field looking like corduroy

Fun in the sun

Around the dining table...always good for conversation.

Lana, Deb, Shelly....must be something funny

On the familiar road home.
With the lake waters cleared up, we were able to go for a paddle.

We decided to dock the kayaks at the levy and climb up to see out over the spillway.

It was a beautiful panoramic vista out over the lake.

Time to get back on the lake.
I enjoy going to garage sales but...

I don't enjoy having one! This is what our driveway looked like Saturday morning. Hey, we still have some junk, I mean inventory left if you see anything you'd like to buy.

After the garage sale we headed down to Dale's and Lori's. Their landscaping is done so tastefully. Mom, Makenna, Lori and I want on a flower tour. The Japanese beetles are doing extensive damage this year to a lot of trees, flowers, and various shrubbery. Notice the neighbor's tree on the other side of the fence as it is brown on the top half due to the beetles' ravaging.

And this is Mom (aka Grandma) showing off her wild flowers around the side of her house.
Palisades...

...the trees overhang, seemingly embracing city-weary visitors. Yeah, right...we're just glad to get away on a beautiful Sunday for a picnic lunch at one of our favorite spots.

Ascending some of the stone steps on one of the trails.

I collected several flat stones for Kevin to skip for me. It's a lot of fun watching him because he can make a stone skip so fast and so many times that I cannot count. I took a video clip, but it doesn't do justice to his skill. Maybe I'll post it at a later date.

Kevin wanted to take my picture since I'm usually not in them. So I did my "Posh" pose. Seriously, isn't she always standing with one hand on her hip, chest thrust out, and usually looking just way too cool? Of course, I didn't have on a little black dress with 4" heels.

Here's the real me...never without my camera. (Ok, technically Kevin has the camera.)

Above the river on the lookout.

...and again looking out

from the same vantage point, looking down the Cedar

After our outing, I asked Kevin if he'd take me to Sertino's for a frozen yogurt waffle cone. A friend of his own's this cafe. Delicious frozen yogurt.

I took this picture because Kevin designed and constructed the large cone sign behind him for the owner of the cafe. Pretty cool, huh!

You know you're in Kentucky when....

...you go to the grocery store to buy Bisquick and you find it next to the tobacco products

reaching our destination after 12 hrs on the road, which included a flat tire....

....soon to be repaired. We picked up a screw in the back tire and flatted about 2 hrs before arriving here. Kevin's dad had a kit to repair the tire.

Kevin's parents, Marlene and Ray

Peaches on one of their fruit trees...

What to do with all those peaches? Make peach jam, of course.

Suzy, Marlene, and Ray preparing a delicious breakfast of pancakes and bacon.

Going to the antique car show in Wal Mart parking lot in KY....

Hey, my dear siblings....remember driving around in the station wagon version of this old Chevy? No shocks made it all the more adventurous... 8 cylinders under that hood, man!
I can still hear it squeaking...

And doesn't this dashboard look familiar?

A sweet ride

Kevin's favorite pasttime at his folks' place...looking for arrowheads in the garden

Visiting a Civil War battleground at Millersburg Crossing in KY

And of course, I took advantage of some great photo ops....
